Giuseppe wants to try two different kinds of soup. One soup has 60 mg sodium per ounce. The other has 80 mg sodium per ounce. Giuseppe wants to consume no more than 1,000 mg sodium. Which inequality represents the situation?

    This is the theory of inequalities. To solve the question we proceed as follows;

    Suppose Giuseppe requires x mg of 60 mg sodium per ounce and y amount of 80 mg sodium per ounce. Then the total amount required will be:

    60x+80y≤1000

    Dividing through by 20 we get:

    3x+4y≤50

    The answer is:

    3x+4y≤50
