So first you need to expand 9 (k-2/3) where you would multiple 9 by everything inside the brackets. 9 x k = 9k and 9 x - 2/3 = - 6 so it'd become

0=9k-6+33 then add together 6 and 33

0=9k+39 then moves k to the other side

-9k=39 and then divide both sides by - 9

k = - 39/9 which you could simplify to - 13/3

k=-13/3
