    The opposite sides on a parallelogram have equal side lengths. Assuming that your drawing is supposed to contain those expressions and values on opposite sides, 5x + 2 is opposite of 17, and 3y - 6 is opposite of 21, so we equate them:

    5x + 2 = 17

    x = 3

    Similarly, 3y - 6 = 21

    y = 9
