    So Y=120 (1-.35)

120 is the Inital Value. 35 is the percentage off now if it was an Upmark of the skates you would add. 35 but sense its on sale its -.35

    So 120 (.65)

Answer: The pair of inline skates will cost $78 when 35% off.

Subtract 35% from 100% (since it is 35% off from the regular price, which would be 100% of the price) and multiply it with $120.

    Convert 35% into a decimal value by dividing it by 100 ... 35/100 = 0.35

Multiply $120 by 0.35 and you should get that the price of the skates is $42.
