Consider the system of equations: 3x+4y=67 and 5x-y=35 Edmundo used the multiplication property of equality so that the y-terms would be eliminated when the equations were added. What was the resulting equation?

    3x+4y=67

    5x-y=35

    we will use multiplication property and multiply by 4 to the second equation

    3x+4y=67

    20x-4y=35x4

    now add them

    23x=67+35x4

    23x=67 + 140

    23x = 207

    x=207/23

    x=9

    and you can find y
