Jim pays $75 per month for a cell phone plan plus $0.30 per minuet beyond the first 1000 minuets. Write an equation for the cost (y) based on the number of minuets (x) after the first 1000

    Let x be the number of minutes Jim used

    105.60 = 75+0.30 (x-1000)

    105.60=75+0.30x-300

    105.60=0.30x-225

    1056=3x-2250

    1056+2250=3x

    3306=3x

    x=1102
