x•y=-18
x+y=7
x=7-y
x•y=-18
(7-y) •y=-18
7y-y^2=-18
-y^2+7y+18=0
Y^2-7y-18=0
(y-9) (y+2) = 0
y is either 9 or - 2
x+y=7
x=7-y
X=7-9
X=-2
X•y=-18
9• (-2) = - 18
-18=-18
There you go, y is 9 and x is - 2
