Tom and Tim we're outside observing bugs in their backyard. They saw many ants and spiders. One observation that they made was that ants have 6 legs and spiders have 8. They decided to count the total number of legs they saw. If they counted 40 legs in all, how many ants and spiders did they see

    4 ants = 24 legs 2 spiders = 16 legs

    24+16 = 40 legs
