Jim has 4 different versions of thistles invading his back yard. He estimates that of these thistles, 1/2 are Canadian, 1/4 are bull thistles, 1/6 are plumeless thistles and the rest are musk thistles. If he estimates that he has 3600 thistles in his back yard, how many are musk thistles?

    1/2 + 1/4 + 1/6 = 6/12 + 3/12 + 2/12 = 11/12

    this means 1/12 are musk

    1/12 of 3600 ("of " means multiply) = 3600/12 = 300

    so 300 are musk
