The length of a rectangle is three cm greater than its width. the perimeter is 24cm. what are the dementions of the rectangle?

    W=3

    You have to test it out of what's 3 times longer

    L=w+3

    24 = 2w+2l

    Substitute for l

    24 = 2w+2 (w+3)

    24 = 2w+2w+6

    24 = 4w+6

    18=4w

    4.5=w

    Plug in the w value

    l = (4.5) + 3

    l=7.5

    Final answer: Length-7.5, Width-4.5
