A plumber is fitting a water pipe that is3/4 foot long on to a water pipe that is 2/12feet long how long will the finished pipe be

    First you need to get the denominator to be the same on both fractions so you multiply 4 by 3 to get twelve, and you'll have to multiply 3 by 3 which is 9. now its 9/12 + 2/12, and 9+2=11, so the answer would be 11/12 feet long
