    Length of ladder = approximately 39 ft

    Step-by-step explanation:

    The formation is a right angle to and we are looking for the hypotenuse.

    But first

    The height = was of the house = 20ft

    Total length = the 25ft extension + the 8ft distance betwee the fence and the house

    Total length = 25 + 8 = 33ft

    Length of the ladder = hypotenuse

    Let length of the ladder be x

    X² = 33² + 20²

    X² = 1089 + 400

    X² = 1489

    X = √1489

    X = 38.59 ft

    Length of ladder = approximately 39 ft
