The kinetic energy K (in joules) of a falling apple is represented by K=v squared divided by 2 where v is the speed of the apple (in meters per second). How fast is the apple traveling when the kinetic energy is 32 joules?

    Do subsitution

    energy (k) = 32

    so

    32 = (1/2) v^2

    (I'm pretty sure it is K = (1/2) mv^2, but ok)

    times 2 both sides

    64=v^2

    sqrt both sides

    8=v

    8m/s is velocity
