If the weight of a package is multiplied by 5/7 the result is 40.5 ppunds. find the weight of the package

    5/7 (weight) = 40.5

    Multiply each side of the equation by 7:

    5 (weight) = 283.5

    Divide each side by 5:

    Weight = 56.7 pounds

    Check: 5/7 times 56.7 = 40.5 yay!
