is it possible to cut a square with the length of side equal 1 m out of the circle pieces of tin with the diameter 1.4m?

    Solution-

    Answer is No

    Because if you inscribe a square in circle with 1.4 m diameter, then the square that you can cut will have maximum diagonal of 1.4 m

    Let, if side of square = s

    Then, s²+s² = 1.4²

    ⇒ 2s² = 1.4²

    ⇒ s² = 1.96/2 = 0.98

    ∴s = 0.98995 m

    Which is just short of 1 m.

    Therefore, no such square is possible.
