Five out of seven households have cable tv. If 38,500 households in a certain city have a tv, how many do not have cable tv?

    5 out of 7 have cable ... that means that 2 out of 7 do not

    2/7 (38500) = 77000/7 = 11,000 < = = = do not have cable

    5/7 (38500) = 192500/7 = 27,500 < = = have cable
