    Legend:

    300 square feet = 1 gallon

    Samples:

    roof length = 63ft long

    roof width = 47ft wide

    Formula for area of the roof:

    Area of the roof = (Length of the roof) x (Width of the roof)

    A = 63 ft X 47 ft

    A = 2961 feet

    1 gallon = 300 ft

    ? gallon = 2961 ft

    2961 ft / 300 ft per 1 gallon = 9.87 (cancelling out feet it leaves you gallons)

    Answer is 9.87 gallons
