Miguel wants to paint the living room. The room is rectangular 15 ft long and 12 ft wide the height of the room is 9 there are 4 rectangular windows in the room that are each 3 ft wide and 4 ft hight. He will not paint the windows the floor or the ceiling. How many square ft of wall does Miguel need to paint?

    Total surface areas of all the walls (excluding ceilings and floor) = 2 (9 x 15) + 2 (9x 12) = 486 ft^2

    Deducting away surface area of the windows = 486 - 4 (3x 4) = 438 ft^2
