The sides of a triangle are 15, 20 and 25. Find the length of the shortest altitude

    15, 20, and 25 are a Pythagorean triple, (225+40=625) thus they form a right triangle. The shortest altitude of any right triangle is going to be that of the hypotenuse. All three of the right triangles formed by the altitude on hypotenuse are similar. Thus 15:25 = a:10. a=6.
