Tanyas boyfriend gave her a box of chocolates for valentines day. 3/4 of the chocolates were milk chocolate. 1/8 of them were white chocolate and the rest were dark chocolate. how many dark chocolate were in the box if there were a total of 16 chocolates in all?

    3/4 of 16 is 12.

    16-12=4

    1/8 of 16 is 2.

    12 of them are milk, 2 of them are white. If you know how many are white, the amount for the other is obvious because it's the same fraction.

    2 are dark chocolate
