    2 (3b - 4) = 8b - 11

Multiply the number outside of the parenthesis with the numbers inside the parenthesis.

    6b-8=8b-11

    Subtract 8b from 6b.

    -2b-8=-11

    Add 8 to both sides

    -2b=-3

Divide - 2 on both sides so that the only thing remaining on the left side is the b variable.

    Final Answer: b=2/3
