    300 jelly beans. To find out how many jelly beans there were in the bag, set it up as a proportion. 24 over x (24/x) and 8 over 100 (8/100) Multiply 24 and 100. 24*100=2400. Afterwards divide 2400 by 8. 2400/8=300. The answer is that there were 300 jelly beans in the bag.

    If you would like to know how many jelly beans were in the bag, you can calculate this using the following steps:

    x ... the number of jelly beans in the bag

    8% of x is 24 green jelly beans

    8% of x = 24

    8% * x = 24

    8/100 * x = 24 / * 100/8

    x = 24 * 100 / 8

    x = 300 jelly beans

    Result: 300 jelly beans were in the bag.
