    A = l * w

    25/54 miles^2 = l * 5/9 mile

    l = (25/54) / (5/9) = 5/6 mile

    A = l * w

    (25/54) = (5/9) * w

    (9/5) (25/54) = (9/5) (5/9) = w

    cross cancel

    (5/6) mile = w
