    550 students in the survey

    Step-by-step explanation:

We know that 24% of students have andswered, so we can work backwords from there.

    24% = 132

We can divide both sides of the equation by 24 (or just divide by the decimal verson of 24% to get the answer directly)

    132/24 = 1% = 5.5

As we divided the percentage by 24, we know that the result is going to be 1%, so we can multiply this now to get back to 100%

    100% = 550

Now, the reason why you could also divide by 0.24 earlier is that division of fractions requires you to swap the denominator with the numerator, which in this case swaps 24/100 too 100/24 which is basically going through the steps done above all at once.
