    Let

    a = melon

    b = servings of melon

    c = slice of melon

    equation 1

    a = 6b

    equation 2

    a = cb

    equation 3

    2/3a=a-1/3a

    2/3 = 6b-1/3a

    2/3cb = 6b-1/3cb

    6b = cb

    c = 6 slices

    There are 6 slices per serving, thus Stephen ate 6 slices over the weekend
