    One sample left tailed t-test

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Solution:-

    - We see that the population standard deviation is not given to us. Then we are to perform our hypothesis based on t-statistics.

    - The sample size of n = 22 cartons is taken. So the parameter in evaluating the t-critical value would be:

    Degree of freedom df = n - 1 = 22 - 1 = 21

    Significance level = α

    - Next determine the type of T-test required. Since we are to determine the evidence for mean amount of milk in cartons is less than 32 ounces. It is a one tailed test (Rejection region).

    - The hypothesis to be stated would be:

    Null hypothesis : μ = 32

    Alternate hypothesis : μ < 32
