    Length times width equals area of a rectangle

    Length=3x

    Width=x

    (3x) (x) = 75

    3x squared=75

    x=5

    Length=3 (5)

    Length=15

    Width=5

    Perimeter=2 (length plus width)

    Perimeter=2 (15+5)

    =2 (20)

    =40
