So x-2/4=x+3/2
2/4=1/2
x-1/2=x+3/2
add 1/2 to both sides
x=x+4/2
4/2=2
so x=x+2
subtract x from both sides and get
0=2
this is a false statement
maybe you forgot to put a number in front of one of the x's
