Richard works at an ice cream shop. Regular cones get 2scoops of ice cream; large cones get 3 scoops of ice cream. one hot Saturday, Richard scooped 234 regular cones and 156 large cones. one scoop of ice cream is 3 ounces. A tub of ice cream weights 10 pounds. how many tubs of ice cream did Richard use to make the cones.

    he scooped 234 regular cones ... 234 * 2 = 468 scoops

    he scooped 156 lg cones ... 156 * 3 = 468 scoops

    thats a total of 468 + 468 = 936 scoops

    each scoop weighs 3 oz ... so the total weight of the ice cream is:

    936 * 3 = 2808 oz

    1 lb is 16 oz ... so 2808 oz is : 2808/16 = 175.5 lbs

    if a tub of ice cream weighs 10 lbs, then richard used:

    175.5 / 10 = 17.55 ... he used 17.55 tubs full
