The surface area of a cylinder consists of the sum of the areas of what shapes?

    Two circles with a radius equal to the radius of the of the cylinder and a rectangle with a height equal to the height of the cylinder and a width equal to the circumference of the cylinder.

    So it is the sum of the area of two circles and a rectangle.
