    Call the morning sales x.

    This means:

    - The afternoon sales are x + 50.

    - The evening sales are 3 (x + 50) = 3x + 150

    Now we can calculate x knowing the total sales:

    Total sales = morning + afternoon + evening

    1000 = x + x + 50 + 3x + 150

    800 = 5x

    x = 160

    We are asked for evening sales, so let's plug are value for x into the evening expression:

    evening = 3x + 150 = 3 (160) + 150 = $630
