Find volume of banana bread batter: The only difference in the volume is the height.

    Volume of bread batter = length x width x height = 9in x 5in x 2in = 45 x 2 = 90 in³

    Volume of bread pan = 9in x 5in x 3in = 135 in³

Subtract greater volume with lesser volume to find volume of empty space in the pan: 135in³ - 90in³ = 45in³

You'd have 45in³ of space to fill before the batter overflowed.
