Given the function f (x) = 2|x+6|-4 for what values of x is f (x) = 6

    If 6=2|x+6|-4

    Then 10=2|x+6|

    |x+6|=5

    which means x+6=5 OR x+6=-5

    so x=-1 OR x=-11
