From total of 10000 programs only one is winning. The probability that you will get the winning number can be calculated as the ratio between the numbers of desired events and the total numbers of events. There is only one winning number, so the ratio is : 1/10000. If you purchase two programs the probability is the sum of the two probabilities: 1/10000+1/10000=2/10000.

We are asked to solve for the probability that out from the ten thousand programs being created and printed in preparation for the basketball tournament, there will be ONE displays for the winning number. Given the condition that we will buy TWO programs, the solution is shown below:

    2 in 10,000

    = 2/10000

    = 0.0002

    = 0.02 %

    The answer is 0.02% probability.
