Given the inequality - 8 < 2, explain what happens when you multiply or divide both sides by 2 and what happens when you multiply or divide both sides by - 2.

    When you divide - 8/2=-4 and 2/2=1

    -4<1

    when you divide by a negative number your sign changes

    4>-1

    When you multiply or divide each side by 2, the signs stay the same. - 16 <4 and - 4 - 4 and 4> - 1.
