What does x equal? 3 (14x-15) = - 72

    The 3 (14x-15) is basically multiplying so 3*14x-3*15 so that would be 42x-45=-72. After that, you add 45 on both sides canceling - 45 and make the - 72 to - 27. 42x=-27, now you divide 42 into both sides making x=-27/45.
