    Let's represent the number of sodas with 's' and the number of hot dogs with 'd':

    s = 2d

    s + d = 123

    2d + d = 123

    3d = 123

    divide:

    d = 41

    123 - 41 = 82

    The vender sold 41 hot dogs and 82 sodas
