When 10 is added to the number that is produced by doubling the number x, the result is equal to 5 times the number that is 7 less that x. What is the value of x?

    10+2 (x) = 5 (x-7)

    10+2 (x) = 5 (x) - 35

    35+10=5 (x) - 2 (x)

    45=3 (x)

    45/3=x

    x=15
