Exponents refer to the power of numbers eg 3^5

Roots refer to two numbers which are the same which when multiplied result in a number.

    eg 3^2=9

or the square root of 9 is 3.

Exponents and roots are related because they both require powers (ie ... The same number multiplying itself for a number of times.)
