If you are not allowed to use calculator this becomes guessing game. 8 is bigger than 7 so the whole part is 0. You have the equation 8*x=7. If the decimal is 9-> 0.9 it gets bigger than 7. If it is 8 the answer is below 7. So it must be 0.8 ... and other digits to come. keep going with this idea and you will end up with 0.875. This is the best way i can recommend. But I have not seen anywhere where you need to do this by yourself.
