    So 84%=1050

    what is left is 100%-84%=16%

    equal ratios

    1050 to 84=x to 16

    1050:84=x:16

    fractionify

    1050/84=x/16

    multiply both sides

    by 16

    16800/84=x

    simplify

    200=x

    answer is 200 is left

    I am pretty sure the final answer would be 168.

    If he used 84% it would be 1,050 multiplied by. 84 which is 882.

    Then you would do 1,050-882 which is $168
