    Linear equation: 55+8 (x) = y

Volume in the sink after 25 min = 255 gallons

    Step-by-step explanation:

The amount at the beggining is 55 gallons and is not changing

the water filling the tank is changing increasing 8 gallons per minute

the independent variable is the minutes and we can represented with the x

the dependent variable is the amount at the end of the minutes and we can represented with the y

    The linear equation is 55+8x=y

With this equation we can find the volume after 25 minutes

    =55+8*25

    =255
