If f (x) = 27 and x=9, What is the constant of variation of (k) for this function?

Hint: Use f (x) = kx and solve for k.

    Y = k * x

    When x = 7 then y = - 58

    - 58 = k * 7 Divide both sides with 7

    - 58 / 7 = k

    k = - 58 / 7

    y = k * x

    when x = 6

    y = - 58 * 6 / 7

    x = - 348 / 7

    which would be - 49.7
