Johnny sells 14 boxes of almond cookies. Each box has the same number of cookies. Let a represent the number of almond cookies in a box.

Mona sells 28 boxes of chocolate cookies. Each box has the same number of cookies. Let b represent the number of chocolate cookies in a box.

Johnny writes 14a+28b as an expression to show the total number of cookies that he and Mona sold.

    its b. if you do the equation, 14 (a+2b), you will find that a becomes 14a and 2b becomes 28b. this can then be simplified as 14a+28b. its the same.
