    When we refer to an exponent, we mean the power to which a particular value is raised, the value itself called the base. For example, when we say 3 raised to the power of 2, this means we are saying 3 is raised to exponent 2. Where the value 3 represents the base.

    Now, logarithms is another way of saying the same thing. While we make use of power in the exponent side, the common thing there is to use the base. For example when we say 3 raised to the power of 2 equals 9, we can also say the log of 9 to base 3 equals two. We can also convert from the logarithm form to the exponent form quite seamlessly
