Since a dime is half the worth of a nickel which a dime is 10 cents while a nickel is 5 cents. You would multiply 34 by 2 in order to get the same amount as the 34 dimes replaced by the nickels. Which would be $3.40, once you subtract 3.40 from 4.85 you would get $1.45 which could be shown with 14 dimes and 1 more nickel. Since you replaced 34 dimes with 68 nickels, you will add 14 dimes and 69 nickels together which will give you 83 as the total amount of coins that Kevin has altogther.
