A gardener plants two types of trees in a park:Type is five feet tall and grows at a rate of 12 inches per year. Type is three feet tall and grows at a rate of 15 inches per year. Algebraically determine how many years it will take for these trees to be the same height.

    x + 5 = 1.25x + 3

    subtract x

    5 = 0.25x + 3

    subtract 3

    In 8 years they will both be 13 feet tall
