3/5 of Jill's 30-page photo album is full. She wants to set aside 1/4 of the pages that are left for photos of her vacation. How many pages can she fill before her vacation?

    3/5 of the album is full ... leaving 2/5 pages that are not full. 2/5 (30) = 60/5 = 12 pgs not full (12 remaining pages)

    she wants to set aside 1/4 of the remaining pages ...

    1/4 of 12 = 1/4 (12) = 12/4 = 3 pgs set aside for vacation

    12 - 3 = 9 pgs ... she can fill 9 pgs before the vacation
