a (b + c) = ab + ac; a (b - c) = ab - ac
16 (38) = 16 (40 - 2) = (16) (4) - (16) (2) = 640 - 32 = 608
16 (38) = 16 (30 + 8) = (16) (3) + (16) (8) = 480 + (10 + 6) (8)
= 480 + (10) (8) + (6) (8) = 480 + 80 + 48 = 560 + 48 = 608
