The Alligator, UF's Independent Newspaper, included a poll question on Friday, September 14th, 2013, "Do you have health insurance with the new health care plan?" Seventy two students answered this question. Any student could then go and answer the survey question. Will this sample be representative of all UF students? A. Yes, since anyone (student or not) could participate. B. Yes, since only a random group answered. C. No, since it was done by the student newspaper. D. No, since this is an example of voluntary response sample.

    Step-by-step explanation: It is a type pf non-probability sampling in which the probability of a subject being selected from the population is not known. An unrepresentative sampling is biased as it is the case when volunteers or convenient samples like those one that the researcher can easily see and select or haphazard sample are selected. This method do not follow any probability rule. A researcher who wants to draw reliable conclusions from the results of a sample can not rely on this method of sampling as it will not be representative of the population.
